Welcome to my blog. I thought this would be a fun way to keep in touch with family and friends while I am in Kenya this summer. I will be working with individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS as a field placement assignment for my Masters degree in Social Work. My blog’s title ‘Living Positively’ was inspired by a previous experience in Kenya where I had the privilege of hearing the personal stories of over one hundred Kenyans who are HIV+ and 'living positively’. Their stories inspire me to live a fuller life. On this trip I plan to explore in more detail what ‘living positively’ means to the women and children of Kenya.
I have no idea what this blog is going to evolve into while I am there. However, I am sure some of it will be about my travels and some of it will be about adventures but mostly I think it is going to be about life. So I hope you check back in mid-May to see how ‘Living Positively’ unfolds.
